I will be changing place of employment next week: I am joining the lovely Melkeveien Designkontor*!
It will be sad to leave Tank Design because I've had such a wonderful time there. But at the same time it's going to be exciting to work for a new design agency and face new challenges, so I'm feeling a rush of sadness and happiness all at once. I love how life keeps changing and leads me in different directions - I get the feeling that anything can happen. It's definitely going to be an interesting time ahead.
* Norwegian for "The Milky Way Design Office" - is there any sweeter name for a design agency?
It's been a while since I've updated this site, as I've been busy working at Tank Design. Now I've finally gotten around to updating my book cover-section with a couple of new book covers, and hopefully I will be adding some of the stuff I'm working on at Tank Design soon.

Four years ago I had my first serious design internship with Tank Design. It was during the summer after my first year of design school. Now I have joined the Oslo-based graphic design agency as a substitute graphic designer filling in for one of their designers going on maternity leave. It's nice to be back :)
A short story about my new job at Kreativt Forum.

Hyperactivitypography from A to Z won gold in illustration for education, non-fiction and information in this year's Visuelt Competition.
The jury says:
Wins because it is playful, comprehensive and solid in a traditionally serious genre. The jury is impressed with the scope of the project, are entertained and learns a bit about typography. Good!

Hyperactivitypography from A to Z won gold in the textbook category during this year's Most Beautiful Books of the Year last Thursday! All the winners are currently displayed at the National Library in Oslo. As a gold winner, the book will be sent to the ”Book Art International” i Frankfurt and ”Best Book Design from all over the World” in Leipzig.
The jury says:
A playful, hyperactive and extra bold book about typography. Invites both new and experienced typography interested to play with type.

Happy New Year! I'm starting my year in Boston where I'm interning at design agency Proverb Ltd. I will be returning to Oslo in the beginning of May. I can't be reached on my Norwegian cell phone until then, but can be reached at 1-617-755-9309.

The activity book Hyperactivitypography from A to Z turned out to be quite the success and has now been picked up by Die Gestalten Verlag to be reprinted and published internationally this fall. It will available for purchase here in October!
I finished – and passed – my final exam this week (you can check out the assignment I did here), which means I'm finished with my graphic design education at Westerdals. It hasn't quite hit me yet. So now I'm trying to figure out what I will be doing next.

I have taken new product shots of most of my work this weekend, to make everything look so much sharper. And I've added the long anticipated Hyperactivitypography from A to Z, which I have been working on from almost half a year now. It turned out really nice and we (the team) are getting lots of positive feedback, so that is fun. Other than that, my final exam is coming up soon and I'm trying to figure out what I will be doing in the fall, now that I'm almost finished with design school.

I discovered I've been added to McGill University's list of The Norwegian type scene because of my Universe font. I don't know if I deserve to be listed alongside amazingly talented people like Magnus Rakeng and Christopher Haanes, so I'm highly flattered.

It's been quiet on this website for quite some time now, but I finally got around to do some updates: I've added a new project (Quotes To Live By), as well as redesigned an old project after some eye-opening feedback from my typography teacher (Trekways of the Wind). This because the first half of my last school year is already over and I thought it would be wise to work on improving my portfolio for when the job hunting begins. So other projects may be re-examined as well in the near future. We'll see.
To evaluate the school year so far: The year started very slow, but half way in the speed increased and I've gained valuable experience and learned a lot. The next half should be exciting and informative as well – and I'm actually looking forward to my final exam in the spring. :)
Happy holidays & a happy new year!
Me and some class mates (all girls, curiously) have started a Moustache blog. Moustaches are hillarious. :)

I've joined the Behance network. Visit my site at behance.net/underfundig.

Today Studio 3 starts, Westerdals' in-house student design agency that I will be attending this last year at Westerdals. We are fifteen students who will take jobs from real clients.
I just finished my two week internship with Mission Design. Two weeks sounds short, but it was a good experience nevertheless and I got to learn some new things as well as meet some wonderfully talented people.

I just got a rave for my CD cover design for heavy metal band Deseized. Read it here. And congratulations to Deseized for a good music review!

The results are in: I have passed my final exam and can officially begin my third year this upcoming fall. My exam assignment can be seen here. Cheers!
Who says a website can't be redesigned in a day? A lot of minor changes have been done and some new work has been posted (even more work is coming soon!). I have introduced a new design category to the navigation menu in the left column which is entirely dedicated to books, because a book designer is what I want to be when I finish school :)
Monday to Wednesday this week I will have some designs exhibited at this year's Utbrudd festival which is being held at Rockefeller.
The final exam that concludes the two first years at Westerdals was handed in yesterday and I will have the result sometime next week. Now I will spend some time redesigning my website.

It's confirmed that I will be spending a couple of weeks of my summer vacation as an intern at Mission Design :)

I've just been accepted to the third year in-house graphic design studio at Westerdals, Studio 3! Only half the class is accepted to the third year, bringing us to a total of 15 students. Congrats to my future fellow co-workers!
The new website is up and running! There are still some minor quirks that needs attending, but it's all good.
